Hoop it Forward was started in 2007 with one goal in mind: To give away hula hoops and spread the joy of hula hooping. The concept of Hoop it Forward is similar to "pay it forward", except we give hoops out to people.

The inspiration for our organization was seeing the joy on the faces of new hoopers after convincing them that they CAN indeed hula hoop! Think you cant hoop? Think again! Many people think they can't hula hoop because they have tried with the store bought hoops which are too small. So, we started making bigger hoops for new hoopers and giving them away. We found that this inspires new hoopers who are then inspired to get others hooping, etc…

Hoop It Forward has given away over two thousand hoops in the past 2 years.! We always appreciate donations. This includes tubing, connectors and tape.

How YOU can Hoop it Forward:
1. Get Inspired: Come to one of our events, learn that YOU can indeed hoop and go home with a new hula hoop.
2. Inspire others to hula hoop and bring them to one of our events. They will go home with a new hula hoop.
3. Donate your time or money. 100% of your donations go to hoop supplies. Donate your time by coming to one of our events (we are located in Colorado) and help decorate hoops for future hoopers.
4. Learn to make your own hula hoops and give them away to others. THIS is the full circle of Hoop it Forward.

Just wanted to let you know that HIF is still out there - just because there is snow on the ground does not mean you can't move that living room furniture aside (watch out for the plants!) and practice!

Keep an eye out - we are looking into a fundraising event, and also will probably jam up at ski jam this year (Boulder cruiser event at A-Basin!)

We are going to need financial / supply assistance this year...so if you know any contractors who have the irrigation tubing (scraps, etc) get in contact with them (although i doubt right now is the time, but once it starts to warm up and they repair the broken sprinklers....)

We’ve wrung out the blankets, dried out the hoops and cleared out the drippy moop. . . and want to thank YOU for making this year’s World Hoop Day such a special BLAST!! That Monsoon didn’t even stop our FUN. . .well, until the DJ equipment was flooded. But still in the midst of the flood, we were smiling. Oh, how do we express our gratitude to you DJs. . . A HUGE THANK YOU for the rockin’ hip shakin’ beats. You all know how to inspire us hoopers. . .Hooping isn’t half the fun without the Music. mLe and Ishe . . . seeing you have so much fun in that downpour. . .PRICELESS!

We even had the 9 news anchors hooping on air! You new hoopers are what inspire Hoop It Forward to do what we do! To date, Hoop It Forward has given away 850 hoops! Stay tuned for a much needed fundraiser in the Fall. . .We promise, it will be one of those special events you don’t want to miss.
